Our Corporate Footprint: 2025 Carbon Audit
Because 3DTD operates under a 100% remote working policy with no physical offices, corporate utility contracts, or company-owned commercial vehicles, our direct operational footprint is fundamentally decoupled from fossil-fuel infrastructure.

Justification: Modelled across our workforce of 26 employees (20 full-time, 6 part-time). This figure includes an aggressive sustainability discount reflecting that the clear majority of our remote team’s residences utilise domestic Solar PV installations, directly offsetting daytime workstation power draw.

Our strategy combines decentralised workforce efficiencies with specialised engineering practices to actively surpass minimum legislative standards.
Operational & Workforce Measures
Decentralised Digital Structure: By permanently eliminating corporate office spaces, we remove the continuous heating, cooling, and powering cycles of commercial real estate, alongside erasing 100% of standard employee commuting emissions.
Solar & Microgeneration Integration: We actively encourage the deployment of domestic solar PV systems across our remote design team, ensuring our daytime engineering hours are powered by renewable microgeneration.
Cloud-First & Zero-Print Protocols: Physical printing is strictly banned across our operations except where legally required for critical safety documentation. All data management and design collaborations happen in highly optimised, energy-conscious cloud environments.
Project-Driven Carbon Displacement
Zero-Waste Design Philosophy: Our engineering team uses advanced 3D route-proving and clash detection to design highly precise trenching paths. This directly minimises subsurface civil excavation work, drastically reducing landfill waste, soil disturbance, and heavy machinery fuel use across UK construction sites.
Transition Engineering: 100% of our commercial focus is directed at shifting the UK away from fossil fuels by engineering high-efficiency, low-carbon District Heating Networks (DHN).

This Carbon Reduction Plan and Environmental Strategy have been prepared and reviewed in alignment with the Procurement Act 2023, PPN 06/21, and modern UK climate targets. Emissions factors have been applied utilising the latest defensible DEFRA/Greenhouse Gas Protocol datasets.
