David Underwood is one of the UK’s most experienced and trusted buried network designer and construction practitioner.
Possessing vast city centre Heat Network route proving and coordination expertise, David has managed the design and installation of many of the UK’s largest and most complex buried networks.
David’s background in surveying the civil environment, ensures his network route designs and 3D-Modelled solutions are informed by over 30 years of practical expertise.
It is this experience and passion to share knowledge which has led to David to successfully build and mentor buried network design teams, the most recent of which draws together his most trusted and competent associates into the UK’s leading specialist buried network design team – 3D Technical Design.
As a consultant, David now specialises in converting concept solutions into a safe, procurable and most importantly deliverable state.
David is highly experienced at identifying and managing technical risks and has taken CDM pre-construction information and standards within the Heat Network industry to a new level.
Nicola has over 15 years’ accountancy experience in District Energy, leading the Finance, Management Accounts, and Analytical support functions within the largest Group portfolio of District Energy Schemes in the UK.
Nicola’s Senior Management experience at Cofely District Energy Group supported various schemes across the UK, including Southampton Geothermal, Birmingham District Energy Scheme and the Olympic Park.
Nicola has extensive practical experience in writing and implementing internal Heat Network accounting policies, ensuring Financial analysis and modelling is compliant with appropriate accounting standards.
Nicola also possesses a proven track record in stakeholder management via business partnering whilst working within one of the UK’s top accountancy firms, communicating complex and technical accounting issues in a straight forward and understandable way to non-finance parties. Nicola maintains a personal touch in building strong relationships and is passionate about providing information which allows effective operational and financial decisions to be made.
Kris’s role as Technical Manager is key to ensuring that our vision of becoming the UK’s finest source of uncompromised, high quality design solutions within the district energy sector, by leading the organisation’s output standards.
The role is heavily focused on managing our Technical Team’s development and performance against our quality management system. Kris has a keen eye for detail a passion for ensuring that our quality standards meet and exceed our client’s expectations.
With sound knowledge of leading edge engineering principles and practices, Kris brings a great deal of practical experience to 3D Technical Design from his previous role as a District Heating Design Team Leader within Engie where he worked on the Olympic Park District Energy Scheme.
With this experience, Kris is well placed to work on complex 2D, 3D and GPR Utility Modelling projects, whilst continually driving and improving our quality standards and managing technical risk.
Nina works within our Design Team providing 2D and 3D CAD services. With an eye for detail, Nina works with our Technical Manager to ensure the quality of the work we produce is of the high standards we offer to our clients.
Before joining 3D Technical Design, Nina worked as a Geodetic Engineer and also experience with GIS, Surveys, topography, GPS within the transport infrastructure sector.
Bev works in our Business Support team providing assistance to our Directors and Head of Finance as well as supporting the design team. Beverley also provides assistance with accounting and project reporting.
She brings a wide range of skills to the company and is the glue that holds the company together.
